The cellars of the Castle of Rubbia are south of the Ušje vineyard. They were built in the hollow of a rocky headland of the Carso to ensure that the bottled wine has an ideal temperature all year round.

They strike a balance between modernity and tradition, being built of excellent materials but in the old style with domed ceiling. The building took a long time because such architecture leaves no room for imperfection.

From the cellars you will be able to go directly to an underground embrasure, which is more than 1,000 square metres. It was built by the Third Company of Miners of the Italian army between 1915 and 1918 and will house a museum in memory of the Great War.
